This artwork shows the current date and time in unix time: the number of seconds since midnight Thursday, 1st of January, 1970 (Coordinate Univeral Time, UTC).
This method of representing time is used by computers, including the device youre using right now. Many actions you make electronically are recorded with unix time.
The images show a 24 hour time-lapse film. 1 frame represents 1 minute of real time.
Rotate the device to landscape. Left hand landscape shows 1 day in 24 minutes at 1 frame per second. Right hand landscape shows 1 day in 1 minute at 24 frames per second.
